Party hosts Garcelle Beauvais and Angie Harmon
Actress, author and SheBrand client, Garcelle Beauvais, along with gal pal, Angie Harmon, recently hosted the launch of her third children’s book, I Am Awesome. The book is the third installment in the “I AM” children’s book series co-written by Garcelle and Sebastian A. Jones.
An intimate group of about 100 adults and children gathered at Books & Cookies on Main Street in Santa Monica to feast on pizza, chocolate covered superhero strawberries and nitrogen-infused sorbets provided by The Party Goddess. The kids created their own superhero capes and were treated to an exclusive reading of I Am Awesome by Garcelle.

I Am Awesome encourages self-confidence in children by highlighting the things about them that are unique and suggests that they take pride in their identity. The book helps children discover identity through imagination, teaching kids to love themselves and enjoy what makes them awesome.

All three of the “I AM” books address identity issues relevant to many children today. The first book, I Am Mixed, focuses on brother and sister Jay and Nia and explores the thoughts and emotions shared from children of mixed ethnicities. The second book in the series, I Am Living in Two Homes, navigates the complexities both child and parent face when dealing with separation and divorce.
