The warmer days and plentiful sunshine here in LA have put me in the mood for Spring, so I thought I’d share some of my favorite finds for the season with you. If you haven’t done so already, it’s a great time to go through your closet, donate anything you haven’t worn in the last couple years and check to see if anything needs to be repaired, altered or dry-cleaned.
This season is all about the feminine, ruffled white blouse and there is no lack of great options. If you’re ok with a bit of a splurge, I couldn’t resist this one from Veronica Beard. If you’re looking for more of a steal, then this one from J.Crew may be right up your alley. I also really like this one from Ganni, this one from Frame, and this one from Joie.
I am also loving all of the wide-leg pants for Spring. My skinny jeans have found a home at the back of my closet and these Frame Palazzo jeans have a front and center position. I’ll be channeling my inner Brigitte Bardot, for sure. I also bought these J. Crew Point Sur wide-leg pants in multiple colors. At $72 (and often an additional 30-40% off online!), they are a real steal.
This pointelle crewneck from J.Crew (below) pairs beautifully with all of my wide-leg pants and jeans and provides just the right amount of warmth on chilly Spring evenings in LA. It comes in four different colors, but I’m particularly fond of the ivory and the wisteria.
As the weather heats up, but I still need to look pulled together for meetings, I’ll reach for this Mango blazer (below left) again and again. I love the look of a white or cream blazer with the sleeves rolled up over a silk tank and jeans.
My favorite dress hands down this season is the Surrey from Reformation (above right). In black, it’s classic, elegant and sexy all rolled up into one perfect package. And during a season of bold prints and lots of frills, this dress makes its own kind of statement. I’ll be wearing it in NYC for my birthday dinner, and then just a few days later at Le Sireneuse in Miami.
I hadn’t bought a new bag in a long time, and I went a little crazy this Spring. I am absolutely obsessed with the Alice bag from Anine Bing. It can be worn as a cross-body, has just enough room to hold all of your essentials like your wallet, phone and lipstick, and it has just the right amount of edge to be paired with all of the ruffled, frilly feminine blouses this season. It has literally been glued to me for the last month.
I also really like this crossbody suede buckle bag from J.Crew. I bought it in olive, but it also comes in a season-appropriate blush. It’s a particularly good steal if you grab it during one of their many 30% off sales online.
The first of two birthday presents I purchased for myself this year includes this gorgeous mauve-colored bag from Elleme. I have always liked shades of pink and lavender as neutrals, and this bag will hold all of your essentials. Carin Olssen (aka Paris in Four Months) first introduced me to the brand a few months ago, and now I can’t wait to visit their shop in the Marais in Paris the next time I’m there. I also have my eye on this one – and this one. You know, just in case someone needs a birthday gift idea. ????
I bought these sweet scalloped suede kitten heel sandals in pink from Ann Taylor. They are also available in navy. They are a refreshing change from my usual nude or black. I also love the ease and comfort of these classic Bally Ali slingback flats.
Last but not least, I bought these Tribale pearl earrings and ABCDIOR Tribale initial earring for myself as a birthday gift. I have long been a fan of Dior’s fashion jewelry collection and always like to stop by the boutique when I’m in Paris or NYC. I bought this pair for myself last year. I can assure you that I will be sharing lots of pics of all of these on Instagram in the weeks to come.
So what did I miss? What were your great finds this season? I’d love to hear all about them, so please share below.
