If you read my last blog post, then you know I recently celebrated my birthday with friends in Paris after a week-long retreat in Scotland.
And as always, Paris did not disappoint.
If you’re looking for an insider’s guide to the City of Lights, you’ll find one I put together a few years ago here. This post is less a guide and more of a behind-the-scenes photo peek from a very special adventure.
My good friend Susan and I arrived the day before my birthday at the gorgeous Hotel Plaza Athéneé, where we were welcomed in true Parisian style with champagne, chocolate cake, flowers and a beautiful framed picture of the two of us in Scotland (swiped from my Instagram account!)
That night, we dined at Hotel Costes with our friend Laura, and one of my besties, Tara, who flew all the way from Los Angeles to celebrate with us in Paris.
Tara and I decided to do a nightcap afterwards at the Ritz Paris.
The next morning (my birthday!), I was awakened by a few special deliveries.
We then decided to meet up for a leisurely brunch at the Restaurant Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athéneé, where we feasted on eggs, croissants, brioche, and of course, more champagne.
That night, we dined at long-time favorite, L’Avenue for a festive celebration, and I got to spend time with one of my best friends, Christine, who lives in Bordeaux, France.
The next day, Susan and I did a photo shoot all over Paris – from the Avenue Montaigne to the Eiffel Tower to Montmartre.
And of course, Paris would not be complete without a morning stroll along the Seine.
Or a quick visit to the original Ladureé for a favorite French treat.
And look what I found on one of my morning walks. The French have got it right.
One last glass of champagne at the Hotel Ritz.
Adieu, Paris, mais pas au revoir.
Very inspiring! I need to start planning my birthday trip!
Can’t wait to hear what you plan, Jennifer!
