The Honorable Lili Bosse was originally elected to the Beverly Hills City Council in 2011 and is currently serving as mayor. She previously served as mayor in 2014-2015 during the City’s Centennial year. Lili has served the community for over 25 years as chair and member of many commissions, committees, foundations and boards, among them the Planning Commission, Traffic and Parking Commission, Fine Art Commission and Beverly Hills Education Foundation. She also co-founded the women’s leadership non-profit organization, Visionary Women.
While serving on the City Council, Lili has been a leader in several important areas, including: the initiation of the very successful Walk With the Mayor program, the Text BH program and the first dog park in Beverly Hills. She was also the recipient of the Democrat of the Year Award in 2014 and was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame for Beverly Hills High School.
Her goal has always been to ensure the values of inclusion and diversity, and create a new sense of community in our world class city. The only daughter of holocaust survivors, Lili grew up in Beverly Hills. She and her husband are strong proponents of public education and longtime supporters of Beverly Hills schools. Together, they led the modernization of the libraries at all five public schools, the renovation of the KBEV television facility and started the Bosse Leadership Academy for school district employees.
Currently serving her second term on the Council, Lili is focusing her efforts on enhanced quality of life for residents, more transparency in city government, and budget sustainability for the future of Beverly Hills.

1. What are three words that best describe you?
Passionate. Kind. Optimistic
2. Tell us why you’re awesome in two sentences or less.
I am all about Yes. I start with Yes, and then figure out the ‘how’ after. I love to love. I must admit, I am one big open heart but I can be a tough cookie when the time requires it.

5. What’s the ONE thing you absolutely can’t live without?
Love
6. What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who don’t see the world in possibility.
7. If you could have dinner with anyone (living or not) who would it be, and WHY?
Elon Musk. I am a huge star dreamer. I have always looked to the sky and wondered about the magic that may exist beyond our universe. Would love to talk to him about Space X and the quest to have humans visit Mars. I hope to one day visit space myself.
8. What does it mean to you to have a strong, engaging brand and how has having one helped you?
What I value most is being an accessible Mayor. I lead a Walk with the Mayor every Monday where hundreds of people show up to connect and create a sense of community together. It is important to be open-hearted, open-minded and to really hear what others share. There is a big difference between listening and hearing. I truly open my heart and hear what others say.
9. What is one piece of advice you would give your younger self?
It’s really ok to be your unique self. In time, you will grow to love and embrace it. The more we love who we are inside, the deeper the connection we can have with others.
10. What is one piece of advice you would give to women today about staying true to themselves and succeeding on their own terms?
It all starts from the inside out. Once we truly accept all of ourselves, even the parts that we wish were different, the more we can truly live a happier, fuller life. Have the courage to trust your instinct and take chances no matter how out of the box the ideas are. In fact, it’s more fun that way!
