1. What are three words that best describe you?
Passionate, fearless, hardworking.
2. Tell us why you’re awesome in two sentences or less.
Every time I’ve been knocked down, I’ve gotten back up again. And many of my clients say I changed their lives, and that’s the best reward for my work.
3. What are your three biggest indulgences?
Off the beaten track international travel, Burning Man every year, a nice glass of Cabernet.
4. What’s currently your favorite…

Hostess gift: Uh oh. I’m supposed to give her a gift? Kidding. Wine. Is that the right hostess gift?
Home décor item: Pictures of my cute husband, kids, foster son and rescue dogs, making goofy faces and having fun.

5. What’s the ONE thing you absolutely can’t live without?
Love.
6. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Rude people. Be kind. Mind your manners. It matters.
7. If you could have dinner with anyone (living or not) who would it be, and WHY?
John Legend, because I love his music, his vibe, his wife and his social justice activism.
8. What does it mean to you to have a strong, engaging brand and how has having one helped you?
I don’t think about this much, but I suppose I just want people to know what I stand for, which is fighting for the rights of women, people of color, and other oppressed groups.
9. What is one piece of advice you would give your younger self?
Start writing your books sooner. (I’ve now written three, and I’m working on three more, but I didn’t start until my forties.)
10. What is one piece of advice you would give to women today about staying true to themselves and succeeding on their own terms?
Be more confident. Women have to be 80% sure before they say something. Men only have to be 20% sure. Speak up! Be bold! If you don’t feel it, fake it.
I wish to you all the confidence of a mediocre white man.
