What are three words that best describe you?

Tenacious, insatiably curious

Tell us why you’re awesome in two sentences or less.

I don’t think I’m any more awesome than anyone else. My life, however, is awesome, because I’ve been able to (over many years) get to a point where I’m in my “flow” – I’m contributing something that truly matters and fits with my principles.

What are your three biggest indulgences?

Robust red wines, long hiking trips and Thai massages.

What’s currently your favorite…

Restaurant: Fratelli Paradiso, Sydney Australia. It’s my local. Their menu is largely meat and vegetable based. They use organic and local (without making a song and dance about it) and most of their wines are natural and “orange”.

In New York (where I am as I write this) my favorite is Gramercy Tavern. The menu is balanced and, again, very much focused on good quality produce. The atmosphere is the perfect mix of dignified and bustling.

Food:  Roast pork with plenty of crackle!

Cocktail: A slightly dirty gin martini.

Shopping destination/store: I’m not a big shopper at all. I try to consume as little as possible and have always been this way. But I like window shopping in Paris – it’s street level (no malls) and dignified – it’s not about mass production and most of the stores are specialized and particular, so I always find very quaint items.

Fashion item: A pair of bright red silk harem pants from Scanlan and Theodore (an Australian label) that I’ve had for about 5-6 seasons.

Place to hangout: Local cafes in whatever city I’m in. I love to work surrounded by the chatter and movement. In New York I love McNally and Jackson bookstore. In LA I love Cafe Gratitude.

City: Oh, this changes all the time. At the moment, London has a fantastic vibe. I’ve always loved Paris and adore the weather and light in LA. However, Sydney would have to be the pick.

Travel item: Ear plugs!

Skincare product: Rose hip oil

Hostess gift: A copy of my book I Quit Sugar

Home décor item:  A reindeer hide from Finland that’s draped over my couch. I meditate on it every day and it’s soooo lush!

Book: Viktor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning

Website: The New York Times

Magazine: The Atlantic

What’s the ONE thing you absolutely can’t live without?

My family – my four brothers and my sister are my favorite people.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Wastage – particularly food wastage. Oh, and bottled water when we all have access to fantastic tap water. Oh, and hand sanitizer (full of endocrinal disruptors that go into the water system).

If you could have dinner with anyone (living or not) who would it be?

Oprah – obviously I’d cook her a sugar-free dessert and I think her voluptuous conversation would be a fair exchange.

What does it mean to you to have a strong, engaging brand and how has having one  helped you?

The best part of what I do is that I am able to engage so directly with other like-minded humans. I don’t have to push or sell, I can be myself and connect (which is what I love doing most) and then income and (additional) success follows from there.

What is your #1 tip for fellow women entrepreneurs?

Have a morning routine. When things are busy, having a slab of time in the morning for yourself is so important. Women need daily balance to be able to navigate their way through relationships and to see things clearly. I exercise, meditate and ensure I have time to plan out my day.
