Danielle Walker 1

Danielle Walker is the author of the New York Times Best Selling cookbook (35+ weeks), Against all Grain, and the forthcoming, Meals Made Simple (September 2014). After being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease when she was 22 years old, Danielle realized that she needed to make dietary changes to end her suffering. She removed grains, lactose, and legumes from her diet, and started her blog to help others suffering from similar ailments continue to enjoy food. With her culinary skills, love for food, and an equal love for journalism, she has become a source of hope for others suffering from all types of diseases or allergies.

What does it mean to you to have a strong, engaging brand and how has having one helped you?

People need to trust you and your brand to engage fully, and honesty and transparency are of utmost importance to me. I think it helps my fans relate to me and want to continue coming back for recipes they can trust, which has played a big role in my success.

What is your #1 tip for fellow women entrepreneurs?

It’s cliché, but never throw in the towel. If one idea doesn’t pan out, dream up another and keep trying. I think it’s important not to get discouraged when life doesn’t go exactly as we plan, and to get back out there and keep going.

  1. Its like you learn my thoughts! You seem to understand so much about this, such as you wrote the book in it or something. I feel that you simply could do with some p.c. to pressure the message home a bit, however instead of that, that is great blog. An excellent read. I will certainly be back.
