Inspiration Award 2014 Honoree, actress Zoe Saldana
I recently attended the 11th Annual Step Up Inspiration Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
Held annually in the heart of the entertainment industry, the Inspiration Awards gathers Los Angeles tastemakers to honor those who embody the Step Up mission of inspiring women to inspire girls. It is one of the most anticipated events for women in Los Angeles, and this year’s soiree did not disappoint.
I have been a supporter of Step Up for more than a decade – as a volunteer, mentor and past board chair – and every year I am deeply moved by the work Step Up is accomplishing with at-risk teen girls.
The mission of Step Up is to propel girls from under-resourced communities to fulfill their potential by empowering them to become confident, college-bound, career-focused, and ready to join the next generation of professional women.
This year, the Inspiration Awards included a red carpet reception, luncheon and full-scale fashion show from Halston Heritage. The honorees included actress Zoe Saldana, Claudia Eller, Editor in Chief of Variety, and KPMG.
Other glamorous attendees included: Julie Bowen, Beverley Mitchell, Haylie Duff, Ashley Jones, Amy Davidson, Sarah Jane Morris, Lacey Chabert, Aimee Garcia, Katherine McNamara, Andrea Bowen and Kaley Cuoco.
