You Should Know Her: Nikki Groom

A British expat who moved her entire existence over the Atlantic ocean to the United States in three small suitcases five short years ago, Nikki Groom has been touted as THE copywriter to watch, as well as a force of nature and a rising superstar. After spending a decade in marketing, Nikki now writes exclusively for women entrepreneurs and believes that words should speak to the heart—not just to the head. She also believes that Sylvia Plath was right on the money when she said, “The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.” You can find her on Twitter @NikkiGroom and at her website http://https://www.nikkigroom.com

1. What are three words that best describe you?

Fearless, Strong, and Determined.

2. Tell us why you’re awesome in two sentences or less?

I can smell bullshit a mile off, and I don’t tolerate it. I make mean vodka Jello-O shots.

Eating out (gimme steak and wine and I’m happy), Diesel jeans and anything Clarins.

4. What’s currently your favorite…

Restaurant: Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Shopping Destination: Thayer Street in Providence

5. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Flakers. People who make plans with you and then weasel out at the last minute.

6. If you could have dinner with anyone (living or not) who would it be?

I’m currently obsessed with The Voice, so it’d have to be Ceelo Green (don’t judge).

7. What does it mean to you to have a strong, engaging brand and how has having one helped you?

People are bored of the same old drivel. They want raw, real honesty. And frankly, they want something that’ll keep them entertained. My goal is simply to make people feel like they know me before we’ve even said two words to each other.

8. What is your #1 tip for fellow women entrepreneurs?

Be unapologetically you.
