1. What are three words that best describe your personal brand?

Resourceful, Inspiring and Transparent

2. Tell us why you’re awesome in two sentences or less.

I would have to say I am a visionary. I can see things in my head and work passionately to make them a reality. Similar to my brand, my resourcefulness and transparency help me to help others with their vision and ultimately that inspires those around me.

This is of equal importance but I have run out of my two sentences; I am acutely aware of my weaknesses and fill in the blanks by surrounding myself, and my company, with those who are great at what they do.

3. What are your three biggest indulgences?

1) One on one dates with each of my three children.

2) A quick getaway with my boyfriend—who happens to be my husband.

3) A long backyard lunch with friends with no agenda just good food, good wine and great friends.

4. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Dishonesty and lack of authenticity.

5. If you could have dinner with anyone (living or not) who would it be and why?

My father who is no longer living. I would want to introduce him to his three amazing grandchildren and give them the gift of knowing their grandfather, if only for a moment. I would also love to share a meal with Muhammad Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank. I would ask him questions about the practical steps he took to bring real hope to the thousands of women he has help through his micro loan programs, and how he has motivated so many to join him to create lasting change.  If I could find a way to sneak them in I would also invite Maria Shriver, Bono and his wife Ali Hewson too.

6. Why is having a powerful personal brand important to you?

Your personal brand tells everybody who you are, what you’re about and conveys your core values without opening your mouth. It’s the thing that separates you from the noise and captures your authentic voice—which is the only way to emerge from the clutter in a meaningful way.

7. What is your #1 marketing tip for fellow female entrepreneurs?

Market from the inside out. By this I mean, make sure your marketing is a reflection of you. From collateral materials and your sales process to branding, if you truly understand what you and your company represent, every decision from connecting to your target market to hiring employees will emerge from your core values. Ultimately these are the qualities that engage and endear you to your target audience.
