1. What are three words that best describe your personal brand?
Helpful, Smart, and Pro Female
2. Tell us why you’re awesome in two sentences or less.
Hmm, does anyone like answering this one? I guess because I’ve worked extremely hard to build three strong brands – Modern Girl, (which has had 3 bestselling books and a tv show) Youth Intelligence (a company which I sold) and now Trendera (a new company). But mostly because I’ve tried throughout to be ethical, a good mom, person and friend.
3. What are your three biggest indulgences?
Massages, chocolate covered raisins and anything from Hermes.
4. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Women who don’t support women…oh, and people who pee on public toilet seats.
5. If you could have dinner with anyone (living or not) who would it be and why?
My mother, who died when I was 21. I have so many questions to ask her and so much to tell her about my life. I miss her and I wish I could share the last 20 years with her.
6. Why is having a powerful personal brand important to you?
I want to do important things in my life. I’m no Mother Theresa but I’d like to help a few people and make a difference. Having a powerful personal brand means more people will listen to you, which means you have a chance to affect real change.
7. What is your #1 marketing tip for fellow female entrepreneurs?
Don’t overpromise and do what you say you’re going to do. I know this sounds ridiculously simple but you’d be surprised at how many people don’t! People and companies need to know they can rely on you! Plus nobody likes someone who isn’t authentic!
