Name: Cristina Perez

Occupation: Attorney, Television Personality and Author

1. What are three words that best describe your personal brand?

Authentic, Identity Driven, Relatable/Approachable

2. Tell us why you’re awesome in two sentences or less.

I am awesome because I am empowered by my identity.  I am awesome because as an empowered woman, I know how to find strength in my purpose, my opinion, and myself and I am aware of my downfalls while simultaneously working to improve myself everyday.

3. What are your three biggest indulgences?

1) Purses

2) Shoes

3) Wine

*Not necessarily in this order. 🙂

4. What is your biggest pet peeve?

My biggest pet peeves are not saying what you mean and regretting what you say.

5. If you could have dinner with anyone (living or not) who would it be and why?

If I could have dinner with anyone, living or not, it would be Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman in the U.S. to obtain a medical degree.    She did not let discrimination, opinions from others about what “she could do” define her identity or purpose.  I would love to ask her what drove her and made her unstoppable in such different times.  I would also ask for her opinion of what we are doing right today as women.

6. Why is having a powerful personal brand important to you?

Having a powerful personal brand is important to me because I want to differentiate myself, stand out in my own unique way, and, most importantly, make a personal connection with people.

7. What is your #1 marketing tip for fellow female entrepreneurs?

The basis of branding is understanding who you are, finding strength in your own identity and being yourself.  In marketing or branding yourself, let your gut and your heart guide you.  Never pretend to be someone you are not because people will see right through you and lose trust.  This is the instant brand killer.
