1. What are three words that best describe your personal brand?

Cool, sophisticated, minimal.

2. Tell us why you’re awesome in two sentences or less

I conceive of something and do it. I’ll never talk myself out of implementing a good idea.

3. What are your three biggest indulgences?

1) Falling in love

2) A quick game of tennis during the workday

3) A beautiful place to live

4. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Tardiness. If you’re late you’re telling me in no uncertain terms that you think your time is more valuable than mine.

5. If you could have dinner with anyone (living or not) who would it be and why?

Maria Bartiromo. As far as successful women go, I can’t think of many more pioneering than her. She changed the role of women in journalism and finance. And, yes, the first question I’d ask her is how she always looks so good, even with no sleep.

6. Why is having a powerful personal brand important to you?

My whole business is based on people believing in my taste, style, and recommendations. If I don’t properly convey that brand at all times, even in my personal life, I immediately lose credibility. I micromanage everything about my brand, from how I dress to the way I write to the business cards I carry.

7. What is your #1 marketing tip for fellow female entrepreneurs?

Be your own advocate and never be scared to fail. Send that email to that CEO, pick up the phone and call your ideal press outlet, try to schedule that dream meeting. The worst thing that can happen is that you’ll end up where you are right now.
