2. Tell us why you’re awesome in two sentences or less.

I have a genuine love for people and feel that I can do more and learn more when I am surrounded by other awesome people.

3. What are your three biggest indulgences?

Travel is my biggest indulgence. I have been to over 70 countries and my identity and range of experiences have expanded because of it.

I grow weak at the knees for shoes—stilettos, flats, boots, sandals – you name it. And, I can’t seem to kick my chocolate habit.

Angella Nazarian quote5. What’s the ONE thing you absolutely can’t live without?

Love

6. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Name-dropping

7. If you could have dinner with anyone (living or not) who would it be, and WHY?

I am researching the life of Carl Jung—the brilliant psychoanalyst. Given that I used to be a psychology professor, I would love to ask questions and probe how his own experiences influenced his theories.

8. What does it mean to you to have a strong, engaging brand and how has having one helped you?

I think a strong brand is one in which people understand your basic values and mission. It can attract like-minded people who want to have conversations about those topics that you care most about. Many people came to my book launch parties, book tour and non-profit events because they felt they already knew me from social media.

9. What is one piece of advice you would give your younger self?

Remember that everything is a process

10. What is one piece of advice you would give to women today about staying true to themselves and succeeding on their own terms?

I think the most attractive quality is authenticity. It means that you have enough confidence and pride in yourself that you allow people to see you as you are.

I have spent over a decade researching leadership in women, and the one consistent pattern I see in effective women leaders is their ability to know who they are and create a life around their strengths.
